About Me
My name is Julian Newson also known as Jules and I make gates... and trailers!
My journey to where I am now began in 1999 when I began an apprenticeship in light Engineering Fabrication. Having completed my trade qualification I stayed with my employer at the time for a number of years in the sheet metal, architectural engineering sector. Having gained a wealth of experience I decided to go out on my own in 2006. It didn't take very long at all to discover the great little niche market that is aluminium gates. From that time I haven't looked back!
There is a growing demand for aluminium gates due to its durability, lightweight properties and aesthetically pleasing finish. People are wanting aluminium gates for a number of purposes including: Security, privacy, keeping pets and children safe within the property or just to enhance the front of their property.
Here at Jules Makes Gates we specialise in custom made residential aluminium gates that fit perfectly into the space you have. Nothing is off the shelf or cut down to make fit. We tackle those tricky jobs that others pass by. We love to be creative with what we do and pride ourselves on excellence. Our goal is always to ensure clients are very happy with the finished result.
On a personal front, I value family, faith and integrity. I'm married to Catherine and we have two energetic boys. I love music, fishing, watching my boys play sport and playing averagely myself. Our family attends and serves at our local Baptist church.
Standard Gates
The standard gate range include horizontal rails, single and double curved top, internal curves within the frame. These can be customised to suit whatever you would like and is practical.
Decorative Gates
Decorative laser cut panels that can be incorporated into a gate frame adding huge appeal and a point of difference to your property. A very popular option.
Slat Gates
Aluminium slat gates offer style combined with a sense of privacy. The slats can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The design we use is to recess the slats within the gate frame giving a clean, modern look.
Louvred Gates
Louvred gates are an elegant and stylish yet functional gate giving full privacy yet allowing wind to pass through the louvre blades.
Rural Style Gates
Your traditional timber gates that warp and twist and don't last forever can be replicated in aluminium to be functional and pleasing to the eye in a rural setting.

Removable aluminium cages
Cages can add greatly to the carrying capacity of your trailer for such tasks as shifting house, firewood gathering and the like. The 750mm cage combined with the 300mm sides give a carrying capacity of 3.125 m3
The cage frame is made out of 40 x 40 x 3mm aluminium square tube with aluminium security mesh panels welded to the frame. Security mesh is super tough and can take a knock especially helpful for transporting firewood and furniture. The mesh is really great for tying bungee cords to as well.
It can be easily removed by one person in a matter of a few minutes via 4 or 6 bolts.
